Alexandra Meachum Biography
Alexandra Meachum is a Shreveport native who first joined NBC 6 in 2014, working behind the scenes as a production assistant, and was later promoted to a producer before becoming a reporter and multimedia journalist in May 2015. Alex works in our Texarkana newsroom where she travels to report stories all throughout the Four States area.

Alexandra Meachum Education
Alex studied both print and broadcast journalism at LSU Shreveport. She graduated in 2014 with degrees in Mass Communication. Also a Political Science with studies in Constitutional Law. During this time, she worked as the Managing Editor for the LSUS newspaper, The Almagest. She also anchored and reported for the LSUS Student News Program.

Along with covering stories in her hometown, Alex works in our Texarkana newsroom where she travels to report stories all throughout the Four States area.
Alex studied both print and broadcast journalism at LSU Shreveport where she graduated in 2014 with degrees in Mass Communication and Political Science with studies in Constitutional Law. During this time, she worked as the Managing Editor for the LSUS newspaper, The Almagest. She also anchored and reported for the LSUS Student News Program.
Before graduating, she proudly won first-place in the Southwest Journalism Competition for television reporting. She worked as a freelance writer for local publications, including The Forum and SB Magazine.
Besides her passion for storytelling, Alex enjoys reading and rock music. She’s also an avid science fiction fan and loves Louisiana’s raw oysters.
