Alexis Geffin Biography
Alexis Geffin is an American Sports Anchor/Reporter who was born and raised in sunny South Florida. She grew up auditioning for countless television commercials, shows, and movies, where she developed a thrill for speaking in front of an audience.
Alexis Geffin moved to the Frozen Tundra in May of 2017 where she joined the News 9 WAOW team. As a sports reporter and weekend anchor, Alexis covers the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Wisconsin Badgers, and of course prep sports around North-Central Wisconsin. She even had the opportunity to fly back down to her hometown and report on the sidelines at the 2017 Orange Bowl. When she’s not talking about sports, you will likely find her working out at the gym, binge reality television shows, or tearing up on the slopes.

Alexis Geffin Early Life
Alexis grew up a dancer, dancing up until her sophomore year of high school then only switching to cheerleading because her school didn’t offer anything else. She also grew up an actress, appearing in commercials and theatre.
The other part of Alexis’s childhood was sports. Her Canadian parents and hockey-playing brothers helped her develop a love for the game at a young age. She never played, but the allure was still there.
When graduating high school Alexis thought the path of her life was pretty clear. She signed up to be a journalism major because she thought that was a great way to combine her love of writing with her desire to end up on TV one day.
During her freshman year, Alexis interned with GatorVision, the University of Florida Athletic Department’s media network. She assumed that this would be a great way to gain experience since she had always been a sports fan.
What Alexis ended up learning is that she really enjoyed working in sports and that it was potentially something she would want to look into in the future. These thoughts were only strengthened by a dry experience interning with a PR firm that summer.
With a new eye towards sports Alexis started interning with ESPN Gainesville during the spring semester of her sophomore year. Sports further proved to be a good fit as she still works there today.
At this point, Alexis yet again thought that she had it all figured out. She really enjoyed sports and journalism her entire life and was now learning that sports journalism was just as natural of a fit as it would seem to be. But as life seems to teach us, no one really ever has it all figured out. She thought that she would be interning with a local Miami news station this past summer, but then things took an abrupt turn.
Alexis Geffin Erin Andrews
Erin Andrews is someone Alexis looks to with admiration. Erin currently works for both Fox Sports and on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, a perfect mix of pop culture and sports. With how quickly the journalism industry is evolving, these kinds of combinations are quickly becoming more common.
Alexis still doesn’t quite know exactly what she’s going to end up doing with her life, but she does have an idea. Most people never get to work in an industry they love. Alexis is going to get to work in two of them.
