Alexis Rivas is an American journalist working as an investigative reporter for NBC7 News. Alexis has a college degree in Public Relations and Art History from the University of Miami and a graduate degree in news coverage from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Rivas is an insightful journalist for NBC 7. She comes to NBC San Diego from ABC21 in Fort Wayne, Ind. where she moored the 5, 6, and 11 pm reports and sent off the station’s analytical unit Digging Deeper.
During her time in Fort Wayne, Alexis won a National Murrow Award and Emmy for an examination concerning an assembly line laborer’s passing that provoked an update to Indiana’s specialist’s remuneration regulations – denoting the main changes to the rule in over 30 years.
She began her news-casting vocation at FOX28 in South Bend, Ind. as an MMJ and eventually, as an end of the week anchor.
Yet, Alexis started her expert vocation as a record chief at an advertising office in Miami, booking clients’ appearances on the neighborhood, public, and link news organizations, and meetings in nearby and public papers, prior to exchanging professions at age 25, going to class and setting out on a lifelong in reporting.
