Amber Hardwick Biography
Amber Hardwick is an American journalist who joined the FOX59 team in March 2018 as the weekend morning meteorologist. She was born and raised in Speedway, IN and takes a lot of pride in being a Sparkplug! Becoming a broadcast meteorologist in Indianapolis has been Amber’s dream since she was in third grade. She is thrilled to join the team and to forecast the weather in her hometown. Before arriving at FOX59, Amber was a meteorologist for WLFI in West Lafayette, IN.
While at Ball State, Amber was an executive board member of the Ball State Storm Chase Team and she also participated in a storm chasing summer course. The class involved chasing severe storms in the Great Plains for nearly two weeks.

After five years of dedicated service, News 18 says farewell to Meteorologist Amber Hardwick.
Amber has served the Greater Lafayette community for nearly five years. She came to WLFI from Ball State in March of 2013 as a weekend meteorologist and then moved to mornings in June of 2015.
Hardwick will be heading home to Indianapolis where she has accepted the weekend morning meteorologist position at Fox 59. Join us in thanking her for her dedication to keeping our weather aware and the community safe.

We are opening up the weekend with dry weather around central Indiana. Skies are mostly clear and temperatures are in the mid-60s. Temperatures will be comfortable to start the day, but conditions will turn warm and humid as we head into the afternoon hours.
A warm front is situated north of Indiana this morning, which means southerly winds will help drive highs up into the mid to upper 80s later today. Winds may even gust up to 30 mph this afternoon. If you’re heading to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today to watch qualifications, dress for the warm weather and stay hydrated.
The weather is going to be more active to our west this Saturday. Western Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri are highlighted under a slight risk for severe weather Saturday. The thunderstorms will remain west of central Indiana during the first half of the weekend. However, a cold front is going to arrive on Sunday evening, and it will bring our next wave of thunderstorms.
Dry weather will persist overnight as skies turn partly cloudy early Sunday morning. Shower chances rise midday and thunderstorms will fire up during the afternoon, ahead of the cold front. The muggy atmosphere may result in strong and potentially severe storms. The slight risk zone will shift over Indiana for Sunday afternoon and evening. The main threats include gusty/damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.

Several areas are waking up dry and mostly cloudy around central Indiana this Wednesday morning, but we are tracking light showers west/southwest of downtown Indianapolis. The wave of spotty showers is moving southeast and most of the activity will likely fall over the southern half of the state. The rain chances will wind down as we head into the afternoon.
The Indians have another home game today against Scranton! Temperatures will rise around 60 degrees by first pitch at 11:05 AM. Those attending the game should stay dry with a mostly cloudy sky at first. However, there will be more breaks in the clouds late in the afternoon with highs near 70 degrees.
Prepare for a big warm up as we approach the weekend! Southerly winds will help drive temperatures up into the upper 70s Thursday. Higher pressure will also provide the state with dry and sunny conditions tomorrow. We will have another opportunity to get any outdoor work done before another round of rain moves into central Indiana. More clouds will push into the area Thursday night with rain and storms arriving early Friday morning.
