Ben Goldman anchors the FOX61 News at 4pm and 11pm on Weekday evenings.
He got his start at the ripe age of 16 years old when he got as a freelance reporter at FOX61. As part of the position, Goldman reported on Connecticut Charities twice each week as the host of Ben Goldman’s Charity Corner.
As a brain cancer survivor, Ben has strong ties to non-profits all throughout the state.
After his time at FOX61, Ben reported on weekends in Springfield, Mass. for Western Mass News. He also interned for various stations including PIX11 in New York City and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. During his time at Nightly News, Ben was involved in the special 2016 Election Night coverage.
During his time at FOX61 Ben has covered a wide range of stories including a collection of exclusive stories with tenants in Hartford’s North End fighting against their landlord due to poor living conditions in the Clay Arsenal Apartments, the 48 hour opioid crisis on the New Haven green in which he pressed New Haven’s mayor about her response and plan for future action and he was live for Games 1 and 2 of the World Series in Boston where he interviewed the President & CEO of the Boston Red Sox, Sam Kennedy, live during the FOX61 News at 4 and owner of the team, Larry Lucchino, during the subsequent news at 5pm.
Outside of work, Ben is an avid golfer and a jazz pianist. He was the Honorary Co-Chairman of the 2015 Travelers Championship for the work he has done for other children and families battling pediatric cancer.
Goldman grew up in Wethersfield, CT. A graduate of both Wethersfield High School and The University of Connecticut where he studied Communications and Political Science.
He currently lives in Downtown Hartford.
