Deanna Falzone Biography
Deanna Falzone is an American Reporter. She is a General Assignment reporter at Fox 17. Deanna joined Fox 17 in March 2013 and made the switch to mornings in September 2014. Falzone succeeded morning anchor Sarah Broadhead who revealed that she would be leaving FOX affiliate in West Michigan after seven years as morning anchor. Broadhead was joining Spectrum Health in their human resources department.
FOX 17 News Director Brooks Blanton said Falzone, who joined the Tribune Company-owned TV station in March 2013, approaches stories with passion and professionalism. Brodhead, who joins Spectrum Health’s Employee Life Cycle team, said Falzone will be a welcome addition to the morning anchor news desk, airing from 5 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Prior to joining Fox17, she worked as a reporter in Lansing at WLNS-TV. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University and native of Detroit the mitten. When she was growing up she always said she wanted to leave Michigan, but when the time came she realized how much she loved it. She once found West Michigan there was no leaving. She was always up to try a new adventure and this area has so much to offer!
Deanna’s job has taught her a great deal over the years and really made her realize that everyone truly has their own unique story. However, it’s when you actually take the time to listen you learn the most about others and yourself.

On October 4, 2019 Deanna shared shared Mike’s story. A story, that for decades Avery had to face…alone. “I can’t even begin to imagine how hard this was to open about, how hard it is. In OSU’s annual crime report released the first week of October 2019 which includes crimes reported that year, not just those that occurred that year the university received nearly 1,500 reports of fondling and nearly 50 reports of rape tied to Strauss.
Among those victims is FOX 17 Morning Anchor Mike Avery, who spent four years playing lacrosse for the Buckeyes in the late 1980s. The abuse was a secret Avery kept to himself for over 30 years until now.
Avery will be among several other former Ohio State athletes interviewed and featured in a report on NBC Nightly News Thursday night detailing Strauss’ abuse. But Avery wanted to tell his story first to FOX 17 viewers.
