Drew Gordon is an American professional basketball player for the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League. He is the older brother of Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon. High School/College Career

While at Archbishop Mitty High School, Drew became a four-year varsity letter winner and three-time All-West Catholic Athletic League first team selection who led the Monarchs to three West Catholic Athletic League.

During his freshman year in 2004 to 2005, Drew posted 9.5 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, 1.0 assists per game, 3.0 steals per game and 4.5 blocks per game and earned CIF Central Coast Section Freshman of the Year honors, All-WCAL first-team selection, and All-CCS second-team honoree.

In 2006, he was named the Cal State Sophomore Player of the Year. Additionally, Drew racked up honors and was named both 2007 San Jose Mercury News Player of the Year as well as the 2007 Cal-Hi Sports Athlete of the Year. He was also named second-team EA Sports 2007 All-American and a 2007 All-California State first-team selection.

In 2008, he was named a  member of Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Best in the West first team, as well as the 2007 to 2008 Les Schwab Invitational most valuable player. Furthermore, in his junior campaign, Gordon registered 15.1 points per game, 10.4 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, 2.3 steals per game and 4.1 blocks per game.

At UCLA, he played for Ben Howland choosing the Bruins over NC (North Carolina), Duke, Arizona, Washington, Stanford, and California. 

Later, Drew left UCLA and enrolled at the University of New Mexico, choosing the Lobos over Notre Dame, San Diego State, and UNLV. In the year 2010, he was noted as leading a group of “impact transfers” who made the Lobos the “biggest, most athletic team” in Alford’s tenure.

The basketball player posted a number of outstanding performances such as: 23 points and 13 rebounds in an 87–77 loss to 6 San Diego State; 16 points and 18 boards in a 68–57 win over Wyoming; and 17 points and 23 rebounds (including 9 offensive) in a 62–60 loss to Utah. 1n 2011 he was selected as the Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year as well as being named Second-Team All-Mountain West.

As a senior, he was named one of thirty finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. It is an honor which is given to a Division I senior who displays excellence in the areas of community, classroom, character, and competition.

Professional Career

Finally, Gordon joined the Dallas Mavericks for the 2012 NBA Summer League after being undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft. In 2012 he signed a one-year contract with “Partizan Belgrade”. 2013, he signed with Italian team known as “Dinamo Sassari”.

Drew joined the Utah Jazz in 2013 for the Orlando Summer League and the Sacramento Kings for the Las Vegas Summer League. Then he signed with the Turkish team called Banvit. In the year2014, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2014 NBA Summer League.

The basketballer moved to Champagne Châlons-Reims of the French LNB Pro A for the 2015 to 2016 season. For the 2016–17 season he signed with Lithuanian club Lietuvos Rytas. In 2017, Gordon moved to a Russian club called Zenit Saint Petersburg. Later, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2018 but was waived after one day. Then, Drew signed with the long Island Nets which is a Nets’ G League affiliate.
