Eddie had his eyes set on moving to Nashville, after graduating from Cedarville University in Ohio, but couldn’t figure out how to make that happen. Speaking with a local news outlet, Brentwood Home Page, he said; “I interned .. for American Songwriter Magazine … I fell in love with the town.” On one lucky day, a friend had an extra ticket for a Paramore concert in Nashville and that turned out to be the first day of Eddie’s new southern lifestyle.
He recalls; “I really wanted to make the jump to Nashville, but it was scary. The Paramore concert was my motivation and I just drove to Nashville. Called a bunch of people from the alumni network, slept on someone’s couch the night after the show, and then just kind of couch-surfed for about a year. I moved around 10 times my first year in Nashville … there were chickens outside my window in the morning, and then the next month I’m living downtown — it was just crazy.”
He works as a part time Uber driver at Nashvile as he awaits to kick off his music career officially.
Eddie Island From American Idol – Audition
He auditioned for American Idol with his original song in March 2019 and managed to blow the judges away. Currently he has made it to the top 20 list after eliminations were conducted on 31st March that same year and he hopes to make it to top 14 and finally emerge as a winner at the end of it all.
