Eric Kripke is an American television writer, director, and producer. He is the creator of The WB (now The CW) series Supernatural, the NBC series Revolution and more recent NBC series Timeless.

He wrote and directed two short films, Battle of the Sexes and Truly Committed. He later developed and wrote for The WB’s 2003television series Tarzan, which was canceled after eight episodes, and followed this by writing the 2005 film Boogeyman.
Furthermore, he was an associate producer for the 2011 romantic action thriller The Adjustment Bureau. He was developing his first feature film Haunted, for a 2012 release. In August 2011, it was announced that he was developing a series for The CW Television Network based on the DC Comics character Deadman, but no series materialized.

After creating the show for The WB in 2005, Kripke stuck with the series as showrunner for the first five seasons. The show’s since gone through a rotating cast of writers, most recently with Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer serving as co-showrunners. Kripke’s also been attached to the show as a part-time executive consultant as he focuses on other projects. As with the usual episode order from the channel, Supernatural Season Fifteen is set to be a full, 20-episode swan song for the series, which will go down as the longest-running fantasy show to ever grace television sets.
