Esmi is a Southern California Native who joined the Fox 26 Great Day Team in August.
She graduated from California State University- Northridge with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in political Science where she anchored and reported for her school’s news station and newspaper.
She gained experience through various internships and jobs in the big city of LA, including Fox 11’s Good Day LA show, KNBC-Universal and Access Hollywood Live.
She enjoyed producing food segments for Fox 11 where she conducted interviews with trendy restaurants around Melrose and Beverly Hills.
Access Hollywood led her to many glamorous red carpet events where she interviewed celebrities and worked alongside TV hosts Billy Bush, Shaun Robinson and Maria Menounos.
She then got to shine bright as news assistant for KABC where she was promoted to News Apprentice after graduating.
She got my bearing’s working in front of the camera in Idaho Falls, Idaho,
where she worked as a general assignment reporter for two years.
Once finished in Idaho, she got the green light to work in Austin, Texas for FOX-7
where she covered national breaking news stories including the Sutherland
Springs Mass shooting, Austin bombings and Hurricane Harvey. Esmi also worked
as a Digital Content Producer managing all of the station’s social media.
Esmi is a well-rounded reporter who has dipped her feet in the waters of both entertainment and investigative journalism.
She worked on KNBC’s investigative team where she covered the 2010 Whitman VS. Brown Governor election.
Esmi has also done extensive political coverage from the Texas State Capitol. She’s reported on immigration legislation covering Texas Senate Bill 4 and interviewed (Rep.) Governor Greg Abbott and (Dem.) candidate “Beto” O’Rourke.
This California girl loves being closer to home and being a drive away from her family and friends. During her off time, you can catch Esmi surfing and soaking up the sun. She also delights in fashion, food, animals, traveling and believes in helping others.
While Esmi is not out reporting, you might also find her walking her three adorable Chihuahua’s and her newly adopted kitten Misti.
She has enjoyed her time here in Fresno, and has a passion for getting to know the community.
