Bielec is a married man. He married Judy Lynn Neal on 29 May 1998. The couple had a child of their own, a daughter named Melissa, whose nickname was Mosey. Sadly, they lost her in a fatal car accident when she was just three.
Frank along with his wife runs a craft company named “Mosey ‘N Me”, named after their late daughter Melissa’s nickname, who died in a fatal car accident when she was just three.
Talking about their daughter Judy said,
“I lost my daughter, Melissa, when she was just three in a fatal car accident. Unfortunately, a drunk driver was the cause.”
“Her nickname was Mosey. When Frank registered our business, he surprised me by naming it after Melissa — Mosey ‘n Me. It is his way of keeping her a part of what we do.”
Frank Bielec Step Son
He lives a delightful life with his wife and a stepson Matthew.
Bielec embraced his step-son and talked with his wife’s estranged man on co-parenting Matthew.
With their agreement, his step-son grew up to be a fine man who got married to his wife Summer in June 2007. The wedding got conducted in Riviera Maya, Mexico. A year later, in April 2008, Matthew gave his parents, Judy and Frank a new role to grandparenting his child named Mason Thomas Gafford.
Frank Bielec Career
Bielec has been an advocate for experimental learning over the present test structure of schools so he left teaching after eight years and started his new career as a florist.
He remained in the florist career for 20 years and designed numerous arrangements for a variety of clients.
As a side job, Bielec kept creating and selling his art and even had his work exhibited at art galleries.
In 1989, he used whatever he had learned about the business world and combined it with his creative drive to start “Mosey ‘n Me” with his wife. The website mentions that they focus and specialize in cross stitch patterns.
Bielec’s appearance on the Trading Spaces show was based on pure chance when he was filling in for a demonstrator who had fallen ill at a decorative paint convention in Nashville. A producer from Home & Garden TV happened to be in the audience and liked his wit.
Bielec has described his feelings when filming the first episode as a cross between plastic surgery and a root canal. But he quickly became a fan favorite because of his wacky sense of humor and his decision to not take the show too seriously.
He was one of the only original designers who spoke about the series in a negative light after it ended its first run. He said, “They took a perfectly wonderful little show and beat it to death,” because of the various different spinoffs and specials.
It was confirmed that Bielec would return to Trading Spaces’ reboot which premiered in 2018 with most of the original designers alone with three new designers. This was a surprise to most people because Frank’s life after the first run of the show was quiet and uneventful which is exactly how he liked it.
Along with his wife, Bielec had his own crafts business but his wife encouraged him to return to show. The rerun took off and a second season has also been confirmed.
Combining his background as an exhibited artist with a flair for crafting one-of-a-kind pieces, he is known for creating comfortable rooms with equal parts coziness and cool. Frank, along with designer Laurie Smith and carpenter Amy Wynn Pastor, appeared on the very first episode of Trading Spaces on September 29, 2000.
Frank’s design style includes eclectic country, a fusion of Frank’s grand artistic vision with practical design solutions.
Known for incorporating surprising artistic elements into his rooms, Frank always challenges his homeowners with arts-and-crafts projects that test their creativity (and their endurance). From stenciling to painting, drawing and cross-stitching, homeowners can always count on keeping busy and learning something new when working with Frank.
