Grant Robinson is an American professional Multiskilled Journalist at WBIR 10News Anchorage in Alaska and WZTV Fox 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Grant Robinson Early Life and Education

Grant is a native of East Tennessee, where he grew up. He moved to Nashville, to pursue a career in the music industry, studying audio engineering at Belmont University. The journalist has long had an appreciation for the outdoors, growing up less than 20 miles from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. While football and rugby practices occupied most of his youth.

Grant’s love for fishing, hiking and cycling also flourished. His fishing, hiking and cycling interests have continued to occupy his free time on weekends. His move to Alaska bodes well for all such activities, even if he recognizes his love for triathlons may now require a thick wet suit! When not on assignment, Grant loves fly fishing and can’t wait to catch some keepers here in Alaska.

Grant Robinson Career

The journalist joined the Channel 2 newsroom in January of 2019 as a Multimedia Journalist. He came to Channel 2 from WBIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, Tennessee. Robinson served there as a general assignment reporter and the station’s leading beat reporter covering fish and wildlife issues. At WBIR, Grant also produced several half-hour documentary specials on the 75th anniversary of Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

It went with its role in the Manhattan Project, and a special report on the anniversary of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s coal ash spill at its Kingston Plant. Grant moved from East Tennessee in 2013, where he grew up, to Nashville, to pursue a career in the music industry, studying audio engineering at Belmont University. The internship at Nashville Public Television shifted his professional trajectory, and he changed his focus to video production and journalism.

Before his graduation, Grant completed internships at WBIR in Knoxville, as well as WKRN (ABC) and WZTV (Fox), both located in Nashville. He has worked as a Multimedia Journalist at KTUU Channel 2. From January 2019 – Present for 6 months. As a Multiskilled Journalist at WBIR 10News from January 2017 – January 2019 for 2 years 1 month. He did a Photography Intern at WKRN News 2 from August 2016 – December 2016 for 5 months.
