Gus Johnson is an American commentator, comedian, and filmmaker known for sketch comedy on YouTube. He is from the small town of Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Some of The comedians he looks up to include; iDubbbzTV, RealBigBoys, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, and Philip Defranco.

He was born on June 20, 1995, in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, United States of America. He was the eldest of the four children born by his parents. Unfortunately, he has not given us the specific identity of his parents. He is twenty-three years of age as of 2018.

He graduated from Grantsburg High School in 2014. Later he received a degree in entertainment design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. His comedian career started at an early age since, in middle school, he filmed “stupid sketches that kids would think are funny.”

Gus kept it up during high school but didn’t break through with a video until he was a freshman at Stout. This was when he Reddit as a source of viewers.
Gus Johnson is doing it every few days, and sometimes millions of people watch his videos. In 2017 he made a podcast with his friend Eddy Burback called “OK I’ll Talk”. Gus and Eddy later moved from the Midwest to Los Angeles and created a new show called The Gus & Eddy Podcast. This podcast is similar to OK I’ll Talk, and often features random guests. On April 10, 2019, Gus’s channel hit 1 million subscribers on YouTube, which he celebrated with a video titled “Thank you for 1 million”. In this video, he thanked everyone who had helped him along the way.
His work has been featured on a number of TV shows such as Tosh.0, ABC’s “Right This Minute,” and the UK’s “Rude Tube” to name a few. Additionally, he has been able to find work in various independent films and series as a result of his work.

When asked about his comedy style he said. “ I think my type of humor is difficult to really define. My work is an amalgamation of various styles such as slapstick, abstract humor, puns, and basic comedic dialogue. That sounds really pretentious I take it back. Don’t look too much into it, I just make stupid internet videos.”
