Hannah Adamson Biography
Hannah Adamson is an American journalist working at KCAU Channel 9 Morning News Anchor, she joined the station December 2018. She is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Adamson received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and minored in both Business Administration and Theatre Arts.

Hannah Adamson Early Life and Education
Although I was born in New York City, I grew up in the city of Peoria, Illinois. Eleven days before my high school year, my family and I moved to Iowa City, Iowa. I graduated with high honors from Iowa City West High School in May 2012. I became a student of Direct Admit at Tippie College of Business after high school. I discovered my passion for journalism through several projects that I underwent, including the Iowa Narratives Project, while taking a required business course entitled “Business Rhetoric.”
I finally made the transition from a business student to a budding journalism major at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication this summer and Video Technician September 2014 – May 2015 (9 months)
. My love for trying new things has led me to be involved in many different activities. I started taking piano lessons at the age of four under the direction of Mrs. Anna Nogaj at Bradley University; years later, as a professional pianist, I wrote my own compositions in my spare time.
I also participated as a singer or musician in four different choirs, the most recent being the University of Iowa group Camerata. I played keyboard for the Coralville production of Spamalot’s City Circle Acting Company in the fall of 2013: the Musical. Besides musical endeavors, I also enjoy biking, running and traveling to Lake MacBride and Wilson’s Orchard.

In 2015, Hannah also had the incredible opportunity to work as a web intern for China Daily in Beijing. Besides journalistic endeavors, she enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House, and other local non-profits.
Sales Associate June 2013 – January 2014 (8 months) – Operated the lab and repaired glasses – Organized daily and weekly reports as well as bank deposits – Strengthened communication skills by providing excellent customer service
Vanity (clothing) Sales Consultant June 2013 – August 2013 (3 months) – Helped with inventory duties such as restocking – Organized both retail space and dressing rooms – Assisted customers with various questions and concerns about apparel

Hannah Adamson Hobbies
Her favorite hobbies include playing the piano, writing music, and reading a good book. She’s also a huge Star Wars fan.
