Javier Manuel Hernandez Jr. better known as Jay Hernandez is an American actor and also a fashion model. He was born on February 20th, 1978 in Montebello, California.

He is the son of Isis and Javier Hernandez Sr. who are both third-generation Mexican Americans. He has 3 siblings( Amella, a younger sister, and Michael and Gabriel, who are his two older brothers). He attended Don Bosco Technical Institute located in Rosemead, California but he transferred to Schurr High School while he was in his senior year.

A talent manager, Howard Tyner, approached him in an elevator and enrolled him into acting school. Howard sent pictures of Hernandez to various casting agents.
