Ask Joe: Where is Jen Wahl?
Question:
From the Ask Joe file a question tonight about some recent changes in the weather department here at News 4.
Several viewers, including Jennifer in Wadsworth, wrote in asking what happened to the weather lady Jen Wahl?
Answer:
Jen Wahl was our morning weather forecaster until recently. She left in August to take a job with KSNV, our NBC affiliate in Las Vegas. Both stations are owned by Intermountain West Communications so it was an easy move that way, Jen was able to stay with the company.
In case you’re ever down that way Jen is doing the weather for their 3: 00-afternoon newscast at Channel 3 and also reporting which she enjoys very much.
Her husband Brian also found a job down there so it sounds like the move is working out well for them, and they are a little closer to their family in Arizona now.
We miss Jen but we’re excited to have Tim Studebaker on board as our new morning meteorologist. He’s doing a great job and he’s excited to be here in Reno.
Jen Wahl – My Fundraising Page
Welcome to My Light The Night Walk Fundraising Page
2017 is the 4th year that team Lust for Life will walk in memory of Garth Hall, an amazing friend, husband, father, and all around great guy who was taken from us too soon. Garth loved all music, was a master in the kitchen, and generously supported the causes that were important to him.
His memory lives on through our support of LLS to ensure patients have access to life-saving treatments, which he would absolutely love – there couldn’t be a more perfect tribute.
I also walk in honor of my mom, Sandy Wahl, whose lymphoma is in remission after having a bone marrow transplant in 2012. When chemo was unsuccessful and a traditional bone marrow transplant wasn’t looking like the best treatment for her, we found something called a haplo transplant that allowed me to be her donor.
The fact that she even had so many treatment options available to her, including one that saved her life, can be attributed to organizations like LLS who tirelessly fund research to improve patient care.
As has become tradition, I’m once again offering an alcohol incentive for your generous donations. If you donate $100 or more – an amount equal to or greater than your largest donation to my efforts since 2014 – I will buy you a 12-pack of your favorite beer or a bottle of your favorite (reasonably priced) wine or liquor.

If you don’t drink or live out of state, I will do my best to find a suitable alternative. When all is said and done, I will also personally make a donation of the amount I spend on all of the incentives so rest assured, all money is going to a good cause. 🙂
Does your employer have a matching gifts program? (If you work at SLF, the answer is yes and I’ll follow up with you about it!) Please consider submitting a matching gifts request to instantly increase your donation at no additional cost to you. Read also about Michelle Goldberg
Matching gifts make up a significant part of my fundraising – they really do make a big difference! The LLS tax id number is 13-5644916 and checks should be sent to the Chicago office – 954 W. Washington Blvd, 3rd Floor, Chicago, IL 60607.
Last year, my mom and I had afternoon tea at the Taj in Boston to celebrate her 4th bone marrow transplant anniversary and 4 years of being cancer free. We’ll celebrate 5 years on June 12th this year in Montreal and that is when she will be considered officially cured!
Amy, Garth’s widow and one of my dearest friends, is our Light the Night team captain and posed with me after last year’s walk. This will be our 4th year walking in memory of Garth and, as you can see, we have made t-shirts, sweatshirts and have raised enough money to earn our own tables and banner at the walk!
