Jillian Angeline joined the Gray Television Washington News Bureau in January 2019 as a multimedia journalist.
Most recently, Jillian was a multimedia journalist at Military Times in Washington. She covered the U.S. Armed Forces, including a ground-breaking federal court trial where injured veterans and Gold Star families sued Iran for their role in manufacturing and supplying sophisticated IEDs, killing U.S. service members.
While she enjoys covering military issues, Jillian is ready to take on the world of D.C. politics and bring hyper-local issues to Gray Television viewers across the country.
Jillian was just 7-years-old when she began her broadcast career. Her first story was talking with local firefighters for Fire Prevention Month. During the interview, the firefighters received a call, suited up and raced to a fire. That first experience ignited her passion for journalism.
Jillian’s news experience spans continents and across the United States. In 2013, Jillian Angeline hopped on a plane and traveled 8,000 miles for an anchoring and reporting gig on the island of Saipan in the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Saipan is 3 hours south of Japan. She anchored the nightly news and reported during the day and night, depending on the news throughout Micronesia. Jillian became a PADI certified scuba diver on Saipan, exploring the clear oceans of the Marianas.
Jillian hails from New Jersey and loves traveling. Back in 2016, she completed a three week stint as a reporter covering the first female World Cup in the Middle East — the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Amman, Jordan — which included a visit to the Al Za’atari Syrian Refugee Camp. She then moved to Central Texas to cover the U.S. Army at Fort Hood.
Jillian is a proud University of Southern California Trojan. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minored in Economics and Forensics.
Jillian enjoys family time, working out and exploring new cities. She especially loves giving snuggles to her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Winnie. She manages the retriever’s Instagram, winniethetoller.
