Jim Benemann is an Award-winning American journalist who co-anchors with Karen Leigh during CBS4 at 6 pm and 10 pm.
He is among the most respected broadcasters in Colorado. He is a native of Chicago and attended Colorado State University where he graduated with a degree in broadcasting back in 1978.
He loves spending time with his family, 4 kids, golfing and getting into the Colorado backcountry. He recently won his 8th Emmy award for his story, Marijuana in Colorado.

Jim’s tying down and announcing foundation has included real assignments on nearby, national and worldwide stories. He set up a telecom authority in Washington D.C., where he secured Capitol Hill, political crusades and sent home reports from Cuba, Korea, South America, and Europe.
Jim is a Chicago local. He went to Colorado State University, gaining a degree in communicating in 1978. His TV news vocation started in Davenport, Iowa yet Jim and his family have consistently felt comfortable in Colorado. Before coming back to CBS4 where he secured in the mid-1990s, Jim worked at Denver’s KUSA-TV and at KGW-TV in Portland, Ore.
In his extra time, Jim preferences following the accomplishments of his four phenomenal children, playing golf and getting into the wonderful Colorado boondocks. Jim was as of late granted an Emmy for his story called “Pot in Colorado”, this was Jim’s eighth Emmy win.
