She has earned the coveted statues for her stories tracking Cartel Guns, Hell Week with the Navy Seals, and Maquiladoras: Economic Boon or Toxic Time Bomb. She’s also won for Best On-Air Talent ‘Anchor,’ and her contributions to newscasts at 5, 7, and 11 p.m.

she grew up in Napa to her parents. As her father worked in an administrative position, she has got the chance to travel to many places. She was the only child of her parents and was pampered a lot by her parents. Kimberly was very close to her father and loved him even more than her mother. Kimberly’s mother remained very busy due to her job and so, she used to spent most of her time with her father.

When Kimberly was ten years old, her father passed away due to a serious health disorder. According to the medical reports, the main cause of her father’s death was a heart attack. She was mentally and emotionally broken after her father passed away.

Kimberly started living with her mother. She became very depressed and went through emotional trauma in her personal life. Kimberly could not even concentrate on her studies for a long time. Her mother had to take her to several counselors to help her get over the emotional crisis. It took her about three years to get over the crisis.

Kimberly Hunt is married to Billy Ray Smith, a former San Diego Chargers linebacker. Her husband is a former soccer player.  They got married in June 1990 and has already been more than two decades.

Kimberly met Billy through her fellow worker named Virginia Cha for the first time while co-hosting the program. They were friends at the beginning and as time passed they both fell in love with each other.

At first, Bill invited Kimberly to dinner and after that, they never stopped seeing each other and got married. The couple will celebrate their 27th anniversary in coming June. They have been able to maintain a smooth and happy marriage and there is no rumor about any complication in their marital life.

The couple along with their daughter resides in San Diego.

Kimberly and her husband are blessed with a cute daughter. The couple named their daughter, Savannah Smith. Savannah is currently 25 years of age. Kimberly’s husband used to care for their daughter when Kimberly was busy working.

Savannah even loves social work and charitable events. She has helped her mom in several charity events and campaigns.

Savannah traveled as a young teen to Vietnam with her mother, where they worked on a school library project for underprivileged children.

After returning from the trip, Savannah started her own charity, raising money to help poor families furnish their homes. She also helped with tutoring. For her 16th birthday, Savannah raised $20,000 for Opportunity International after asking her friends to give to the charity in lieu of gifts. This pretty lady also loves media and community who will be like her mom in the coming days.

After graduation, Hunt went to work for ABC Network News as a researcher for Peter Jennings during the 1984 Democratic National Convention in San Francisco. Afterward, she began working as an associate producer for ABC’s Monday Night Football.
Hunt began her on-air television career at the CBS affiliate in Monterey, California. She later relocated to San Diego in 1987 as an anchor for the ABC affiliate KGTV. For 15 years, Hunt co-anchored the evening newscasts with Carol LeBeau.

Hunt joined the KUSI News team in October 2002. For five years, she anchored the 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. weeknight newscasts. She was also a host of the weekend show San Diego People. Hunt rejoined the 10News team in 2008. She currently serves as the chief & primary anchor and managing editor for KGTV, appearing on its 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. weeknight newscasts with Steve Atkinson.

During her 27 years behind a San Diego anchor desk, Kimberly Hunt has covered sitting presidents, interviewed high-profile celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, covered the Oscars live and helped viewers navigate the ravaging firestorms of 2003 and 2007, but her favorite assignment was Mom.
