Mark Skol is an American journalist working as a weekend sports anchor/MSJ for WZZM13 News. Mark experienced childhood in Houston, Texas, and lived a right distance from NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
While Mark is from the South and is a glad alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin (Hook Them!), he cherishes the Midwest and is as yet becoming accustomed to the winters up North.

Skol, Jr. is the Weekend Sports Anchor/MSJ at WZZM and couldn’t be more excited to call Grand Rapids home. Mark comes to Beer City USA from South Bend, Indiana where he burned through 3.5 years at the NBC offshoot WNDU-TV.
At first, Mark began at WNDU as a manager/picture taker however moved gradually up to the Weekend Sports Anchor and afterward to Sports Director in one year in South Bend.
Since Mark worked at the NBC offshoot in South Bend, he was offered the chance to have a pregame show before each home Notre Dame football match-up.
In 2019, Mark and the WNDU sports group were given the Indiana Broadcasters Association’s “Best Sports Coverage” grant for their inclusion of Fighting Irish football.
