Matt Caron is thrilled to join the award-winning FOX 61 news team as Political Reporter.
Matt has made Connecticut his home. He lives in Wethersfield with his beautiful wife Amanda.
Matt has more than 12 years of television news experience. He was an Anchor / Reporter for WWLP 22News in Springfield, Massachusetts for 8 years where he helped the station launch a weekend 10PM newscast on their CW affililiate. Prior to that, Matt worked behind the camera in the production and internet departments for 4 years.
Matt’s stories were part of newscasts that garnered station Emmy and MBA awards. Over the years, Matt has been trusted to cover major live breaking news assignments including the Newtown school massacre, Boston Marathon bombing, and western Massachusetts tornado outbreak.
Matt is a 2010 graduate of Western New England University in Springfield where his journalistic work has earned him several collegiate awards including the 2016 ‘Alumnus of the Year.’ And several first place TV Reporting honors.
When he is not on the clock, you have a good chance of finding Matt exploring Connecticut or Cape Cod. He loves trying new restaurants, testing his luck at blackjack, swinging a golf club and tennis racket and playing games! Video and board games of all kinds. Matt loves to be with his family and friends and last but certainly not least, root for his Buffalo Bills.
