Matthew Alvarez is an American journalist working as an anchor/reporter/producer for CBS 7 News. He was born and raised in Odessa.
He attended Odessa High School and attended Odessa College. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family when not working.

Alvarez joined the CBS7 Newsgroup in June 2016 as an Intern and moved his way up to an Anchor and Reporter. When joining the group, Matthew took on different jobs as an Intern, everything from composing for broadcasts to aiding Photojournalists and Reporters in the field.
Endless supply of the Internship, Matthew joined the CBS7 group full-time as an Associate Producer and in the end elevated to Producer of CBS7 News at 6 and 10. In 2018, Matthew at that point was elevated to Anchor and Reporter.
