Mike Jacques Biography
Mike Jacques “Jocko” is an American sports anchor/reporter. He works at NBC 15 as a sports director. Previously, he worked for the channel as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter from 2005-07. Over the years, he has garnered awards, expertise as well as prominence for his many great works in the journalism industry.
Mike Jacques Early Life
Mike Jacques was born and raised in Greendale, Wisconsin. He started his journalism as early as high school. His career continued into college and even further. From 1994-99, he studied journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the field in 1999. He later pursued his MBA in Business Administration and Management from 2010-11.

Mike is married to a woman only known as Carol. Not much else is known about his personal life. We, however, do know that together, the couple has three children, Elizabeth, Luke, and Noah. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and sometimes at the golf course.
Mike Jacques Career
WSAW (2007-09)
His career started as a sports director at WSAW-TV in April 2007. He produced and anchored weekday, evening sportscasts as well as on-air packages and live-shots. He also managed the day to day operations of the channel’s sports department. For his work, he won an Associated Press Award for Best Sports Reporting. Later, he got a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award for Best Sportscast. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding achievement for advanced media and sports production.
University of Phoenix (2009-11)
At the beginning of 2009, he left WSAW-TV. He joined the University of Phoenix a while after. Mike worked as a Senior Enrollment Advisor in the campus. He advised students on the best ways to achieve their educational goals. He helped the campus’ enrollment team by maintaining exemplary student service through guiding them. The role got him named Campus Employee of the Quarter in Quarter 2 and 3 in 2010. He was also named Employee of the month in 2010. He was also awarded the Madison Campus Phoenix Spirit Award and Growing Ground Award
KHBS/KHOG-TV (2011-14)
In June 2011, Mike Jacques joined KHBS/KHOG-TV as a Sports Director. His main responsibilities were producing and anchoring sportscasts, on-air packages, and live-shots. He also managed the activities of the stations’ sports department. He also reached out to viewers via social media and the department’s website. The role got him an AP Award for Best Sports Coverage and the American Heart Association Healthy Lifestyle Award. He also swept the competition for AP Sports Awards in 2011 and was voted as one of the Area’s Best Sportscasters.
Wisconsin State Assembly (2014-15)
In Feb 2014, he left this role and became a Deputy Communications Director at the Wisconsin State Assembly. His responsibilities were, managing all office and caucus TV/Radio Communications. He also managed the Wisconsin State Assembly Video Studio and websites/social media outlets. Lastly, he wrote Press releases, columns, PSA’s, media, and constituent videos for state legislators also produced by him. He left the channel towards the end of 2015.
NBC 15 (2015-)
Around the end of 2015, Mike Jacques joined WMTV (NBC 15) as a sports director. He has been working in this role ever since.
