Morgan Wright Biography

Morgan began his career as a production assistant with WDVM (then WHAG), where he ran camera, audio, and graphics for his hometown news station. In October of 2014, Morgan was promoted to general assignment reporter. By February 2015, he was again promoted to Morning News Anchor and Producer.

Wright grew up in a household where news was always on the television and was often the topic of their dinner conversations. But it’s no wonder since Morgan’s father is a veteran journalist and former Fox News Anchor, Kelly Wright. Wright is a Hagerstown, MD native and a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

His family placed great value on the importance of staying informed with what was happening outside of their own world. Morgan began his career in the news and television industry as a production assistant with NBC25, where he ran camera, audio, and graphics for his hometown news station. As a young, motivated high school student, Morgan’s position as a production assistant granted him the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the news industry, which fueled his passion to one day enter into this field of work.

Morgan Wright joined the Washington, DC, Bureau in March of 2018 from WDVM in Hagerstown, MD, where Morgan was anchor and producer of the station’s Evening News broadcasts

Outside of reporting the news, Morgan enjoys playing the drums. He was a touring musician for a number of years and got to see the world. His travels took him as far as Australia. Morgan has admitted that another one of his greatest passions: is creating music and developing a band.

Upon graduation from high school, Morgan’s band landed a record deal with Sumerian Records and recorded multiple albums that would be recognized on the Billboard charts. As a result, his band began touring the world. Through music and touring, Morgan found a passion for interviewing fellow band members and crew, as well as documenting their tour through video blogs.

WTAJ-TV is a CBS-affiliated television station. Licensed to Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States Serving West-Central Pennsylvania. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 32 (or virtual channel 10 via PSIP) from a transmitter in Logan Township. Owned by the Nexstar Media Group. The station maintains studios on 6th Avenue in Altoona.

At WDVM, Morgan covered the 2017 Presidential Inauguration and hosted one-on-one interviews with notables such as WVU President E. Gordon Gee. Morgan also hosted various special news programs covering topics ranging from obesity to immigration to Black history.

In Washington, Morgan covers our local news, regularly interviewing our lawmakers and reporting on politics and policies that affect us here at home.

Morgan is a married man though there is no information yet about his wife, kids parents yet. We will update you soon. However, When Morgan is able to find the time, he enjoys playing the drums, golfing, and hockey, as well as spending time with his wife and family.

The name of his father is Kelly Wright. Kelly is a former American reporter for Fox News Channel. He last was co-anchor of America’s News Headquarters on Saturday and was based in the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau. He was a co-host of Fox and Friends Weekend from July 2006 to January 2008.
