Rhea Butcher Take My Wife
Take My Wife is an American sitcom on the Seeso comedy subscription streaming service. The show follows real-life couple Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher as they share their lives as stand up comics who are balancing work, relationships, and the breaking down of gender barriers. On December 19, 2016, Seeso renewed the series for a second season.
On August 9, 2017, Seeso announced the shutdown of its service by the end of the year, leaving Take My Wife without a home. On March 5, 2018, it was announced that season 1 and the previously unaired season 2 were now available on iTunes (US) and would be available on the Starz app starting May 1, 2018. Take My Wife is also now available on iTunes in the UK (as of April 30, 2018).
For its second season, the show’s creators and producers featured large numbers of women, people of color, and LGBTQ individuals in front of and behind the camera. The couple, who married in 2015, have made careers out of sharing their personal lives. Together, they released a joint stand-up album, Back to Back, in 2017, a 2016 sitcom on the ill-fated network Seeso, Take My Wife, and the Put Your Hands Together podcast, which they record weekly at the U.C.B. Theatre in Los Angeles.

Rhea Butcher Early Career
Butcher began their comedy career performing improv in Chicago at The Second City and has since performed stand-up at clubs including Zanies, the Jukebox, and Flappers, as well as Chicago Underground Comedy, The Hideout, The Lincoln Lodge, UCB, Cole’s, and Meltdown. They made a late night debut on Conan in June 2016.
In the fall of 2014, Butcher appeared alongside Cameron Esposito in a series of videos for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures titled “Ask a Lesbian”.Butcher and Esposito also co-hosted the web series “She Said” for Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls Network. The two wrote and starred together again in taking My Wife, on the comedy streaming service Seeso.
Butcher also co-hosts the stand-up comedy podcast “Put Your Hands Together” with Cameron Esposito, which is recorded weekly in front of a live audience at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles.
Butcher’s first comedy album Butcher was released in August 2016 by the independent record label Kill Rock Stars. The set was performed at Mississippi Studios in Portland, Oregon. It debuted at number one on iTunes.
In 2016, Butcher appeared in 8 episodes of the first season of Adam Ruins Everything. They returned in 2017 for one additional appearance.
In 2018, Butcher started hosting a baseball-focused podcast called Three Swings.
