Scottie Lewis Highlights
Below are the game highlights of the top 10 player from 2019 class and a five-star guard who headed to Florida, Scottie Lewis.
Scottie Lewis 247
According to the 247Sports composite, Scottie Lewis checks in as the 11th-ranked player in his class and the No. 4 small forward among all 2019 recruits behind Precious Achiuwa.
Scottie is an athletic marvel standing at 6feet 5 inches and has a weight of 185 pounds. In addition to having a quick first step that allows him to blow by defenders from all angles, Scottie also has a seemingly effortless bounce that’s made use of whenever he gets below the free-throw line with a full head of steam.
The player also earned rave reviews for his selfless approach from his AAU coach, Mike Rice. “He’s so different from the rest of this generation,” Rice told SEC Country’s Joe Mussatto. “When you’re a top-10 kid you’re not supposed to care more about your teammates, and that’s completely what he does.”
Bryan Antoine, who is a fellow 5-star recruit, also highly praised his friend and AAU teammate. “Scottie’s a different breed,” Antoine said, per Mussatto. “Scottie’s the only player that plays hard on defense. He just plays 110 percent both offense and defense.”
For the Florida Gators, having Scottie Lewis on board is a major accomplishment. Despite being young, the five-star basketball player can boost their national title hopes in a tangible way.
“One thing I like about coach Mike is he doesn’t make any promises,” Lewis told FloHoops.com’s Adam Zagoria. “He tells me what he can do for me, and I know he can do those things for me. He realizes it’s up to me and our communication on the floor if I’m going to reach that next level. He doesn’t promise anything.”
Scottie will join a recruiting class that also includes 5-star point guard Tre Mann. With those two leading the charge, White should have a foundation in place that allows him to keep the Gators competitive with the likes of Kentucky atop the SEC.

Scottie Lewis Florida
On October 2, 2018, five-star small forward prospect Scottie Lewis, committed to Mike White and the Florida Gators. Scottie informed 247Sports’, Brian Snow, of his decision and credited White and his staff for generating a family-like vibe he was comfortable entering.
“I just felt very comfortable there,” Lewis told 247Sports. “I have relationships with all of the players and all of the coaches. There was no place where I had a better relationship with the coaches, and everything just felt like a family atmosphere.”
He held 24 scholarship offers from the likes of Kentucky, Arizona, Cal, UConn, Kansas, Maryland, and others, but in the end, he chose the Gators. They were the first to recruit him and were consistently involved with him over the past three years.
It’s a recruiting win that holds considerable merit not only because of the stature of Scottie as a McDonald’s All-American but also because he chose UF over Kentucky, a program that reels consistently in his caliber talent.
Scottie’s commitment to the Gators continues a wave of momentum that the University of Florida is carrying into the fall. He is the second five-star pledge of 2019 for UF alongside Tre Mann and the third top-40 pledge of the cycle.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Florida currently has the No. 4 recruiting class in the country.

Dunk Contest
Chuck Millan, the founder of Team Flight Brothers, went to work looking at Lewis’ highlight footage after the young basketball player shot a message to him. Chuck is a “Dunk Guru” who has helped every NBA slam dunk contest champion since 2013 with their stylings. “Come out the gate with a perfect score,” Chuck texted. “Oh yeah that windmill one is easy,” Scottie responded.
Scottie Lewis calmly leaped over three peers and missed his first dunk. Nevertheless, he put home a windmill slam on his second attempt of the first dunk.
The fact that he missed the first one shocked Chuck Millan. “He’s like money on that dunk,” Chuck said. “When he missed the first one I was super surprised because I’ve never seen him miss that before.”
The Dunk Guru went on applauding Scottie, “Everything that he did was honestly kind of easy. Those are like kind of subtle for him. Everything he was doing was pretty much like the stuff that’s routine for him.”
However, getting the crowd on his side was the most complicated task for Scottie Lewis. “What I like to do when I work with guys is have them go out there with one of the flashiest dunks they have first,” Chuck said. “Get the crowd on his side, because if the crowd’s on your side, like 95 percent of the time you’re gonna win.”
The full dunk contest is available on video playing platforms with the most accessible one being on Youtube. Below is a short video showing all Scottie Lewis’ dunks.
