The General Assignment Reporter began her career at KOSA-TV in Midland-Odessa, Texas in the United States of America. At KOSA-TV she reported on tornadoes, city corruption, numerous police stand-offs, homicides, and murders.
At New Mexico State University is where Bennett first got a taste for TV news, where she anchored and reported for News 22 – a student-run live broadcast. During that time, she interned at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas. Her experience throughout the internship made her validate her love for breaking news and spot news reporting.
She covered the disappearance of Sul Ross State University student Zuzu Verk which is a story that gained national attention.
