Tracie Savage Biography

Tracie Savage is an American actress and journalist. She has starred in movies and on television. From 1986 to 1991 she was a reporter on WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio. In 1994 she began working at NBC4 in Los Angeles, California where he worked for seven years.  He began working  at KFWB, a news radio station in Los Angeles since September 2001. 

She has covered the civil trials Heidi Fleiss and O. J. Simpson. During the trial of O. J. Simpson, she was called to the witness stand to reveal his confidential sources where she was threatened with going to jail by Judge Ito. , Tracie went back to acting in 2005 and acted in the movie Loretta. More recently, She has appeared on PJTV, a television network on the Internet.

Tracie, a versatile anchor and reporter has worked in broadcast journalism in Los Angeles since 1991. She has covered nearly every major news story, both local and from around the world since then.  Tracie has reported live from the scene of Breaking News, from floods to fires to riots. As a skilled, multimedia journalist she has worked for Television, Radio, and Online news organizations.

Tracie could be seen live every morning on Time Warner Cable, Channel 101, broadcasting “Beat the Traffic”from 2010 to 2014. Tracie was being heard daily on KFWB Radio, as the Afternoon Drive News Anchor from 2001 to 2009. Tracie also produced and hosted an LA Dodger’s Pre-Game show for KFWB for 5 years. Tracie earned a Golden Mike Award for Sports Reporting in her first year as a sports anchor.

By the time Tracie joined KFWB, she was already a household name in Southern California.  At KNBC-TV she   spent 7 years as a reporter and weekend anchor. Initially, she worked at KCAL-TV for 4 years.

She was on the air the historic night Barack Obama was elected President and the day Michael Jackson died. She has produced a weekly entertainment segment, “Kids in the Biz” featuring a top Los Angeles Talent Agent, Judy Savage. She has reported on the aftermath of the 911 tragedy and the Bernard Madoff investment Scandal. She was the principal field reporter for the O.J. Simpson civil and criminal trials and the Heidi Fleiss trial, covering all three from opening to closing. She reported live from the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, which included the Olympic Park bombing and the hunt for a suspect. Savage also went on site to Oklahoma City following the 1995 bombing of the Federal Building.

Savage has interviewed some of the most well-known newsmakers of our time, including celebrities such as Anthony Hopkins, sports stars such as Steve Garvey, and even former Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

Currently  Tracie is an assistant professor at Pierce College, where she teaches journalism, broadcasting and multimedia classes. Prior to being hired as a full-time instructor at Pierce, in fall 2015, she  worked as an adjunct professor at USC-Annenberg School of Journalism, Santa Monica College and LA Valley College teaching journalism, media studies, and film production. For more than a decade, Tracie also produced and hosted an issues-oriented TV talk-show for CityChannel10 in West Hollywood, called #Trending.

Tracie has earned 4 LA Area Golden Mike Awards and 2 LA Area Emmy Awards. During the O.J. Simpson trial, and her refusal to reveal sources, Tracie was honored with the “Bill Farr Award” by the US Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association in recognition of “professional journalistic integrity”.
