Wes Hampton Biography
Wes Hampton is a Christian music singer. He is a tenor for The Gaither Vocal Band. Hampton sang the first tenor for the group from 2005 to 2009, then when it went from a quartet to a quintet, he became the second tenor.
He also performs solo concerts. His first solo album was titled “A Man Like Me.” Wes also appears and performs in the Gaither Homecoming video concert series, television series and cruises.

He was born as Wesley Adam Hampton in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Hampton studied at Trevecca Nazarene University from 1996 to 1998, and he then went on to receive a B.A. in psychology and a minor in music from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, in 2000.
He was part of the worship staff at The Church at Brook Hills, a Birmingham church, for seven years.

Wes Hampton Occupation
Wes was part of the worship staff at a local church in Birmingham. He was the tenor for The Trevedores for seven years. In 2005, after his family members passed his demo tape around to friends of Bill Gaither.
Wes auditioned for the Gaither Vocal Band in May of 2005. He auditioned to replace David Phelps as 1st tenor and lead and After 7 weeks of auditions, Wes joined The Gaither Vocal Band. Wes also appears in the Gaither Homecoming video series.
He has won numerous awards, including a Grammy in 2009 for the Gaither Vocal Band album, “Lovin’ Life,” and was also nominated with the GVB for a Grammy for three more albums.
Hampton, along with the Gaither Vocal Band, has gone on to win numerous Gospel Music Association Dove Awards over the years as well. Wes also won the 2006 Singing News Horizon Individual Fan Award for the best new artist.
In 2018, Wes and the GVB had the honour of singing at Billy Graham’s memorial service in Charlotte, NC, where President Trump and Vice President Pence were in attendance.

Aside from his obvious love of music and family, Wes loves to cook and considers cooking to be a passion of his.
Wes released his first cookbook, “A Place at the Table: Hampton Favorite Family Recipes,” in 2009, and has released a second cookbook, “Wescipes.”
