Wesley Ruff an American journalist, a news anchor who started working as the weekend sports reporter and weekday sports anchor. In 2002, he took over as the sports director and weekday sports anchor.

He started his career at KFYR-TV in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he worked from 1982-1985 as the weekend sports anchor, weekday sports reporter and as the sports photographer.

He attended Westside Elementary School, Springville Middle School, and Springville Junior High School and graduated with honors from Springville High School in 1976.

He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism.

In October of 1985, Wesley Ruff began working at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City as the weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter.

He came to ABC4 in October of 1985 and has been going strong ever since. Wesley Ruff started as the weekend sports reporter and weekday sports anchor. In 2002, he took over as the sports director and weekday sports anchor.

He was named the sports director and weekday sports anchor at KTVX-TV in 2002 and was also voted by the sportscasters and sportswriters of the state to be named the Utah Sportscaster of the Year five separate times – in 1998, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008.

Wesley Ruff was named the Bill Howard Golf Citizen of the Year by the Utah Section PGA in both 2000 and 2006. He is a frequent guest speaker and emcee for many events, remains active in sports, competing in triathlons and playing in numerous charity golf events, plays at the Hobble Creek Golf Course as often as possible.

He was co-captain of the basketball team and co-captain of the track team, both in 1976. Wesley Ruff received a golf scholarship from the Utah Golf Association. In 2016 he was inducted in the Nebo School District Sports Hall of Fame.
