Zinnia Maldonado joined the FOX 61 news team in January 2019 as a general assignment reporter.
Previously, she was a Multimedia Journalist at PBS-39 in Pennsylvania, where she helped launch a brand-new nightly news show. Zinnia’s love of reporting began when she started interning at WCAU/NBC10 in Philadelphia her senior year of high-school. Her passion for storytelling and writing has driven her career choice as a reporter.
Zinnia is a proud Nittany Lion and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Penn State University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Digital Media Trends & Analytics. She graduated with six competitive internships varying across investigative, digital media and news departments at broadcast stations in the west and east coast.
The Philly native is a Roy W. Howard National Reporting Competition Winner and an Emma Bowen Fellow. She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
In addition to her professional interests, Zinnia loves to broaden her reporter mindset by traveling internationally. So far, she has explored Barcelona, Tokyo, Osaka, Toronto, London and the beautiful island of Bermuda. Now she is excited to begin exploring her new home, Connecticut!
