Alex Stewart Biography
Alex Stewart is an American journalist working as a sports director for WAOW 9 News. Experiencing childhood in Lincoln California Alex has been a “football fellow” since birth, in a real sense.
In his first long stretches of life, he watched a Monday Night Football match-up laying on his father’s chest in the clinic room and never thought back. That second established an early starting point for his adoration for sports and his profession.
Alex moved on from the University of Nevada, Reno’s Reynolds School of Journalism with his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. While there he worked for KOLO Channel 8 and the Mountain West Network.
From that point, Alex then happened to Arizona State University’s Cronkite School of Journalism where he procured his Masters’ Degree in Sports Journalism, working for Cronkite News and Fox Sports Arizona. Alex is an ardent outdoorsman.
Whenever he isn’t covering Wisconsin sports on WAOW, he can be tracked down hunting, fishing, climbing, and investigating the country roads in his truck. He cherishes great food (cheddar curds are his new #1), great music, old buddies, and commending special times of the year with his loved ones.

Stewart is the News 9 WAOW Sports Director. He joined the WAOW News 9 Sports Team In June 2018. Playing Quarterback for quite some time, and instructing for 4, Alex loves the game, yet his Football IQ is especially high.
It is no big surprise whenever the amazing chance to come to Wausau introduced itself, he energetically seized the opportunity. After school, Alex took his first games announcing and securing position outside Lincoln, Nebraska prior to taking the action to focal Wisconsin.
