Cindy Farmer Biography
Cindy Farmer is an American journalist working as a news anchor for WGHP FOX8 News. A Virginia local, she started her profession in Roanoke, Virginia, at WSLS TV 10 while still an understudy at Virginia Tech.
After graduation, she moved from Blacksburg to Roanoke and worked all day for TV 10. An ardent avid supporter Cindy loves to play tennis and watch any game her #1 Virginia Tech Hokies are playing!
She says her energy is photography and she cherishes catching “the regular gifts we are given” from her perspective. She says photography assists her with living by her step-by-step proverb “complement the positive!”
She is hitched and has two little girls who are in school, and three salvage canines who keep her occupied with keeping them engaged! She and her better half make their home in Greensboro.

In August of 1990, Cindy joined the Good Evening Show in Greensboro, based out of the studios of WFMY. In 1992 when that show was dropped she turned into a piece of the News 2 journalist group.
In 1997, after the introduction of her first kid, Cindy viewed as her “home” with FOX 8 and has been with the station for 20+ years mooring the FOX 8 Morning and Noon News and detailing every week “Common decency With Our Schools.”
She has won many honors including an Emmy for Community Service, the Susan G. Komen Lifetime Volunteer Achievement grant, The Susan G. Komen Founders Award, the Howard Coble Citizenship grant, and the USTA Grady Elmore Award for commitments to tennis.
