Elise Dolinar Biography

Elise Dolinar joined the NBC 25 and Fox 66 weather and news team in November 2018. She joins us in Michigan after spending two years as a meteorologist at the ABC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, and three years prior to that in Lima, Ohio at the NBC/CBS affiliate.

Elise graduated from Ohio University, not Ohio STATE University, with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Geography and a minor in Communication Studies. Elise is a Northeast Ohio native, so she is used to the cold and snowy weather.

Unfortunately, that still doesn’t make her a fan of driving in the snow. Elise loves summer thunderstorms, but the fall and cooler temperatures are her favorite time of year. Halloween and Christmas are her favorite holidays and she loves decorating for the seasons.

In her spare time, Elise likes to cook, watch new shows on Netflix– especially Marvel shows, and go to Barre work-outs. She began a career in TV while at OU, forecasting for the local PBS station WOUB. WOUB is a non-academic unit of Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication.

Elise says she was a shy kid, so getting into TV was something she never expected. Her love for the weather came from an Earth Science class she took in high school that covered meteorology and oceanography.

She interned with the weather department at the ABC and NBC affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a storm spotter with several National Weather Service offices and is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
