Her two grandmothers had first met in Auschwitz, and Alex, her mother’s father, was one of nine siblings who all survived the genocide. She recalls that the man would become emotional at even mundane events but “it never made sense until she became older and learned of the things he had gone through in the concentration camps”. Last night my parents made me go through a box of my old stuff. I found this little school databook that has my report cards from each grade. Look at the career options I had back in 2nd grade in 1985? You’d think it was the Stone Age. Guess I should’ve checked the “other” box and written in Sportscaster. We’ve come a long way. Still, have a longggggggg way to go.
