He went to Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts before transferring to Cushing Academy, a private prep boarding school in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. He had his college studies at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a NCAA Division III All-American center on the college football team wearing a number 54 jersey. He graduated in 1998 with a degree in exercise physiology and body movement. This led him to pursue a career in bodybuilding and also worked as a limousine driver.
