Maria Anderson Biography
Maria Anderson is an American journalist working as a reporter for KTMF ABC FOX News. She grew up in the Seattle suburbs but has embraced the Missoulian identity.
Maria is a pleased Griz, graduating from the University of Montana in May 2018 with degrees in reporting and Spanish. In the homeroom, Maria was exceptionally engaged with UM’s understudy report, UMNews, and delivered the understudy narrative ‘Montana Jails: Slammed for Solutions.’
The narrative proceeded to win a National Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists and was chosen as one of the five finalists for the Best in Show Award out of each of the 3,300 sections.
She was likewise granted Broadcast Student of the Year by the University of Montana School of Journalism. In her extra time, Maria loves giving a shout-out to the Griz, PaddleHeads, or any Seattle sports group, eating frozen yogurt, and partaking in the daylight.

Maria joins the Wake-Up Montana-ABC FOX Montana group in Missoula in the wake of venturing to every part of the nation full time as an improvement advisor in advanced education. Maria is excited to be back in Missoula and to serve the local area as an ABC/FOX – Wake Up Montana columnist.
While at UM, Maria kept occupied with working at Montana PBS, Griz Vision, ESPN Radio, and ROOT Sports. She cherished voyaging all around the state while helping on Backroads of Montana shoots and was vigorously engaged with the narrative ‘C.M. Russell and the American West.’
She even spent a late spring scooping frozen yogurt at The Big Dipper. Her #1 character is huckleberry (duh)!
