Michael Abeyta Biography

Michael Abeyta is an American journalist working for CBS2 News. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs.

He attended William J. Palmer High School located in downtown Colorado Springs. He then went to college and attended the University of Miami located in Coral Gables, Florida. He has a brother and 2 sisters. He is married to Kimberly and he usually enjoys running the local trails with her.

Michael Abeyta is a pleased fourth era Coloradan, brought up in Colorado Springs. He moved on from William J. Palmer High School in downtown Colorado Springs.

After graduation, he headed off to college, first at CU in Boulder, at that point to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

When he moved on from “The U”, Michael was achy to go home for the Rockies and moved back West. Michael’s first employment was as a News Photographer and Editor in Albuquerque, NM at KOAT-TV. He secured news there for a long time before pressing up and making a beeline for Colorado.

Michael had the chance to hone his photography and altering abilities as a Photojournalist for another nearby Denver TV station before joining CBS4as a Photojournalist in the fall of 2013.

In 2018 Michael changed from a Photojournalist to a Multi-Media Journalist. The change enables him to practice his composition abilities and recount stories the manner in which he gets a kick out of the chance to let them know.

Michael has cherished viewing the news since he was a young man and appreciates each moment of his activity. He loves recounting to his neighbors’ accounts.

In 2011 he won his first National Press Photographers Association TV Quarterly Clip Contest endorsement when he got “Good Mention” in the “West Top Spot News” class for the third quarter.

He keeps on contending in the NPPA TV Quarterly Clip Contest, putting second multiple times in 2013. Twice in the “West General Spot” class and once in the “West General Deadline” classification.

Family is an immense piece of Michael’s life since he has a huge one; a sibling, two sisters, and an excessive number of cousins totally.

When he isn’t shooting the news, Michael can be discovered running the nearby trails with his better half Kimberly, chatting with his mother and sisters, having breakfast with his father, or climbing with his three mutts Trip, Callie and Bella.
