Bruce Lee is a Hong Kong-American actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, and philosopher. He was the founder of the hybrid martial arts Jeet Kune Do. Lee was the son of Cantonese opera star Lee Hoi-Chuen.

He began his acting career in 1985, featuring in a few films like crime Killer, Kung Fu: The Movie, Legacy of Rage amongst others. Brandon was engaged to Lisa Hutton and the pair were to be married a week after the shooting of his breakthrough movie, The Crow. Brandon was accidentally shot on the set of the movie and died a little later. He is buried next to his father at Lake View Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.

Shannon Emery Lee was born on April 19, 1969, and is an American actress, businesswoman, and martial artist. She cut a career for herself in acting starring in films like entering the Eagles, Cage II, High Voltage amongst other projects. Shannon is the President of the Bruce Lee Foundation, a foundation dedicated to aiding the needy and teaching the philosophy of Bruce Lee. Shannon has been married to Ian Keasler since August 1994 and they have a daughter together, Wren Keasler.

Lee’s father Lee Hoi Chuen was a famous Hong Kong Opera singer. His mother Grace Ho was of Eurasia descent. He started appearing in movies at a very young and worked in almost 20 movies as a child actor. Bruce did his first role when he was six years old.

When  Lee was three months old, their parents decided to move back to Hong Kong. Bruce starts getting involved in street gangs in Hong Kong, and his father asked him and three children to go back to the United States. Hoi Chuen’s fourth child, a son, was born while he was on tour in San Francisco.

Lee attended high school in Edison, Washington and studied philosophy from the University of Washington. He also starts teaching martial arts during his stay at the University of Washington, and after some time, Lee opened his own martial arts school in Seattle, Washington.

Lee learned the Kung Fu from Master Yip Man and began his career in martial arts. He participated in the Long Beach International Karate Championship in 1964 and 1967 and performed against the world Karate champion Vic Moore.

He was a star from childhood and did his first role in the film Golden Gate Girl. After coming back to the United States, Lee wants to make his career in martial arts instead of films. In 1964, William Dozier invited him for the audition and that lead to his comeback towards the film industry. Lee appeared in TV series like Batman, The Green Hornet, and Ironside, produced by Dozier.

After that Bruce playing brief roles in movies likes Marlowe, The Wrecking Crew, and A Walk in the Spring Rain. He was not happy with his supporting roles and decided to go back to Hong Kong. Lee played his first leading role in The Big Boss which proved to be a huge success. He later appeared in Fist of Fury which broke the record of the Big Boss. Bruce appeared in three more films and also start direction. He died before the release of entering the Dragon, which proved to be his last film.

  • Green Hornet: America took notice of the Green Hornet’s sidekick, Kato, who was played by Bruce Lee in this popular American television series. Lee’s time on the Green Hornet served as his introduction to the American mainstream.

Bruce stood at a height of 5 feet 7½ inches. He weighed in at 141 pounds but was at 121 pounds at the time of his passing. Lee wore shoes of size 9 US.

On July 20, 1973, just one month before the premiere of entering the Dragon, Bruce Lee died in Hong Kong, China, at the age of 32. The official cause of his sudden and utterly unexpected death was a brain edema, found in an autopsy to have been caused by a strange reaction to a prescription painkiller he was reportedly taking for a back injury.

Controversy surrounded Lee’s death from the beginning, as some claimed he had been murdered. There was also the belief that he might have been cursed, a conclusion is driven by Lee’s obsession with his own early death.

Lee made some American headlines as an actor in the television series. The Green Hornet, which aired from 1966 to 67. He served as the Hornet’s sidekick, Kato, where he showed off his film-friendly fighting style. Even with further appearances, the acting stereotypes were great barriers, prompting him to return to Hong Kong in 1971. There, Lee became a huge film star, starring in movies like Fists of Fury, The Chinese Connection, and Way of the Dragon.
