Christina Watkins WDSU 6 News

Prior to joining WDSU, Christina burned through three years in Charlotte, N.C. at Spectrum News; North Carolina’s just 24-hour station. She anchored the end-of-the-week morning report for the whole state.

While there, she covered public stories, remembering the mass taking shots at Pulse Nightclub for Orlando, the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, the notable expulsion of the Confederate banner from South Carolina Statehouse Grounds, and the legal blunder of a Charlotte-Mecklenburg cop who was blamed for shooting and killing an unarmed man.

Christina’s TV profession began in sports. She was a gameday feature supervisor for XOS Digital Sports Network, a correspondent for the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend, and a grounds association columnist for ESPNU.

Her previous work incorporates interviews with current NBA players, including Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, and Kyrie Irving; and NBA legends, like Robert Horry and Clyde Drexler.
