Lauren Becker is excited to be part of the WSBT 22 team as a multimedia journalist. She graduated from Indiana University majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in political science.

While at IU, Lauren worked all four years with the IU Student Television, IUSTV. She climbed the news ladder from reporter, to producer, to serving as the News Director her senior year. She was also involved with the Media School’s newscast, IU NewsNet, where she was awarded Best Television News Package by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters for her profile piece on a Riley Hospital for Children patient.

Lauren recently interned at the Fox affiliate in Fort Wayne, where she worked alongside reporters helping to create content for the nightly newscast. It was during this internship, she had the opportunity to interview Vice President Mike Pence. Lauren also spent a summer in Los Angeles, interning at Young Hollywood, an entertainment news company. She worked as a production assistant working with actors and musicians on a daily basis.

In her free time, you can find Lauren indulging in her love for adventure, practicing yoga, or spending time with her family.

Lauren says she has never met a stranger. She looks forward to meeting new people in the area and sharing your stories to the community.
