Ryan Collins is an American Hockey Player who plays in the defense position. He was ranked 57th among the North American skaters in the 2014 NHL Central Scouting final rankings and also participated in the 2013 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects game in Pittsburgh. He has won several awards and also won a gold medal and two bronze medals. In 2015, he became the Frand Pond Rookie of the Year. He is currently playing for Columbus Blue Jackets which he signed a three-year entry-level contract.

Ryan Spent two years with the U.S. National Development Team Program in Ann Arbor playing in 38 USHL games during the 2012-13 season and 26 USHL games during the 2013-14 season He also skated in 18 games with the U.S. Under-17 Team in 2012-13 , 33 games with the U.S. U-18 team during the 2013-14 campaign Ryan played high school hockey at Benilde-St. Margaret’s and helped the team win the 2012 MSHSL Class AA State Championship  He played with Gophers teammate Jack Glover at BSM and with the USNDTP also played with Gophers teammate Hudson Fasching with the USNDTP.

He represented the U.S. at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal and earned a gold medal with Team USA at the 2014 IIHF Under-18 World Championship in Lappeenranta, Finland. Ryan earned bronze medals at the 2013 Five Nations Tournament in Finland and the 2013 World Under-17 Challenge in Canada. He played on the U.S. Under-18 Team at the 2013 Four Nations Tournament in Turku, Finland.

Ryan was named Minnesota’s Frank Pond Rookie of the Year and appeared in 32 games as a freshman where he  totaled one goal and eight assists for nine points. He allied his first career multi-point game with two assists in a 6-2 road victory at Boston College. Ryan scored his first collegiate goal in a 6-2 victory against Penn State to help the Gophers clinch the Big Ten regular-season title which earned him a first letter.

He skated in 98 games with 22 points in three seasons with the program which helped the Gophers earn three-straight Big Ten regular-season championships, the 2015 Big Ten Tournament title and two NCAA tournament berths. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets following his junior season.
